  • The original cast of The Devil Wears Prada is confirmed for the sequel
  • Production has begun for the film, focusing on Emily and Miranda’s dynamic
  • The Devil Wears Prada 2 is set to premiere on May 1, 2026

The original stars of “The Devil Wears Prada,” including Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci, have been confirmed to reprise their roles in the upcoming sequel.

In a recent update shared on social media, it’s been announced that 20th Century Studios has started filming, with Hathaway and Tucci being included in the post as new additions to the cast. They join Streep and Blunt, who have already confirmed their return to the project.

In the upcoming sequel, it is said that Emily Charlton, no longer working as Miranda Priestly’s assistant at Runway, has moved up the ladder to become a powerful executive in a luxury group. This new position could prove beneficial for the editor-in-chief of Runway, who is in dire need of advertising money. As for Andy Sachs and Nigel Kipling, their roles in the story are currently unclear. Andy has left Runway to work for a newspaper, while it remains to be seen if Nigel stayed at Runway.

The original trio – David Frankel, Aline Brosh McKenna, and Karen Rosenfelt – will be back for the follow-up film.

Stay tuned for the trailer. The Devil Wears Prada 2 hits theaters May 1, 2026.
