Anirudh Ravichander recalls Rajinikanth’s reaction to Coolie song Chikitu: ‘He said it is going to be difficult…’

The movie “Coolie,” starring Rajinikanth, is scheduled to premiere on August 14, 2025. In anticipation of its release, they have unveiled the film’s initial song titled “Chikitu.” Anirudh Ravichander shared his experience of how the superstar responded to this tune for the first time.

What did Rajinikanth feel about Chikitu?

In a video posted by Sun Pictures, the artist mentioned that Rajini, their respected senior, usually doesn’t listen to songs prior to filming, with the exception of Hukum. However, this time, they only heard it during the shoot, and based on his performance, it’s clear he enjoyed performing it.

On the first day of filming, he expressed appreciation for the song but found it challenging to dance to due to his traditional dancing style. However, when we saw the visuals, we were amazed. After about 30-40 years, you can see Rajini sir portraying a local Tapori character,” Anirudh noted.

Discussing further, it’s known that the composer admires T Rajhendherr, as credited to Lokesh Kanagaraj, and found the project enjoyable. Additionally, Anirudh highly commended the film’s visuals and praised Sandy Master’s choreography for them.

The catchy tune “Chikitu” showcases the classic coolness of Rajinikanth, and the renowned star exudes style throughout the song, delivering powerful beats in each rhythm.

The music video incorporates clips from Coolie, but mainly showcases Anirudh Ravichander. In addition to him, T Rajendherr and the lyricist-singer Arivu are also included in it.
