Is Silambarasan’s STR49 actually Vada Chennai 2? Vetrimaaran says ‘Dhanush is copyright holder of…’

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve been keeping a close watch on the buzz surrounding the upcoming sequel to Vada Chennai – that’s right, we’re talking about Vada Chennai 2! Remember the movie that hit the screens in 2018, starring the talented Dhanush? Well, it was quite a success and marked the beginning of a planned trilogy. So, filmmaker Vetrimaaran has been under the spotlight lately, as everyone’s eagerly waiting for any updates on this highly anticipated sequel.

As a lifestyle expert looking back over the years, I’ve noticed that there have been whispers surrounding this intriguing project, but more recently, the filmmaker has set the record straight and put all speculation to rest.

Is Vetrimaaran turning Silambarasan TR’s STR49 into Vada Chennai 2?

Recently, Grass Root Film Company posted a video in which filmmaker Vetrimaaran clarified that the much-discussed upcoming project, STR49 starring Silambarasan TR, is not a sequel to Vada Chennai, as some speculated.

He made it clear that STR49 isn’t a false claim, but instead, it will be based in the universe of Vada Chennai; however, it is not its direct sequel. Interestingly, Vetrimaaran shared that the ownership of the entire film, including potential spin-offs, sequels, and prequels, belongs solely to Dhanush.

Additionally, he mentioned that the actor from Kuberaa consented to provide him with the authorization for STR49 without asking for a single cent.

He explained, “STR49 is set within the universe of Vadachannai, yet it differs from Vada Chennai 2. Since Dhanush holds the copyright for the Vadachannai film, I clarified that I’m creating a movie featuring Silambarasan TR in the world of Vada Chennai. Dhanush didn’t request any money and offered his approval. However, there have been several unfavorable rumors circulating about us.”

Vetrimaaran recalls Dhanush’s help during financial trouble

In the same video, the director opened up about his relationship with Dhanush and discussed how closely they’ve worked together. Vetrimaaran reminisced about a recent time when he encountered financial difficulties, and it was Dhanush who stepped in to help sort out the funds first.

As a lifestyle expert, I find it crucial to maintain open and honest communication, especially when it comes to collaborations. I must clarify that any speculations about potential creative disruptions were unwarranted. Rest assured, Dhanush has always respected my creative freedom and never posed a threat to the flow of my ideas.

Recently, I encountered some financial difficulties, but thankfully, I had a reliable ally in Dhanush. He stepped up and facilitated the necessary funds, securing an advance from one of our producers – a gesture that speaks volumes about his integrity and commitment to our collaborative projects.

Vetrimaaran continued by explaining that Dhanush was comfortable with Silambarasan taking on a role within the universe of Vada Chennai.

Indeed, the actor from Thug Life also expressed a desire to preserve the connection between the previous pair, opting to either star in the next installment of Vada Chennai or a film set within its universe instead.
