Based on reports from Variety, it’s been confirmed that Amazon Prime Video India is moving forward with a second season for the show “The Traitors”. This decision comes in response to the impressive performance of the Indian adaptation of this globally acclaimed format, which has won both BAFTA and Emmy Awards.
Right now, the makers are working on the production of the show, but they haven’t specified an exact premiere date or time yet. Despite this, due to its impressive performance, Season 1 has generated quite a buzz early on, leading to a relatively uncommon mid-season renewal, which suggests that Amazon Prime Video is optimistic about it.
Titled “The Traitors India,” this reality TV game show borrows its concept from the Dutch series “De Verraders.” Led by Karan Johar, it invites 22 Indian celebrities and influencers for an intriguing competition centered around trust, deceit, and strategy. The lavish Suryagarh Palace in Rajasthan serves as the backdrop, where the show secretly divides participants into two groups – Traitors and Innocents. Every night, the Traitors eliminate one contestant, whereas during the day, the group strives to root out and expel them. The ultimate goal is to stay alive longer than others and pocket a substantial cash reward.
The actors featured in the Indian version of Traitors are Anshula Kapoor, Ashish Vidyarthi, Jannat Zubair, Maheep Kapoor, Mukesh Chhabra, Raftaar, Raj Kundra, Sudhanshu Pandey, Uorfi Javed, and many more.
