A fresh update on the Heat sequel has arrived, as per World of Reel’s latest report, the casting process seems to be progressing for this much-awaited follow-up to Michael Mann‘s 1995 masterpiece.

Based on a report from World of Reel, Warner Bros. is showing great excitement for the upcoming sequel, even though there were initial doubts about the project earlier in the year. Now that the studio has committed to the project, casting for the film is now officially underway. Although it’s unclear who will be cast, it’s expected that Heat 2 will follow the story of the book Mann co-wrote with Meg Gardiner, which was published in 2022.

The novel traces the initial phases of Neil McCauley, portrayed by Robert De Niro in the initial movie, and Vincent Hanna, played by Al Pacino, as they rise through their respective paths. Additionally, it delves into Hanna’s discovery of a fresh danger that emerges after the conclusion of the original film.

There’s been a lot of chatter about the possible lineup for Heat 2, and Austin Butler recently hinted at his potential role in the sequel to the classic 1995 movie. Moreover, it’s been suggested that Adam Driver, who worked with Mann on his last film, Ferrari, might be part of the upcoming project; however, his participation hasn’t been officially announced yet.
