Ironheart: Latest MCU Show Is Getting Review Bombed

Ironheart is getting review bombed.

Last night, the initial three episodes of Marvel Studios’ Ironheart series became available on Disney+. In this show, Dominique Thorne returns to her character as Riri Williams/Ironheart, having first appeared in the MCU during 2022’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Beyond the main actors, you’ll also find Lyric Ross portraying Natalie Washington, Anthony Ramos in the role of Parker Robbins/The Hood, and Alden Ehrenreich taking on the character of Ezekiel “Zeke” Stane, among others.

What do we know about Ironheart’s reviews?

Initially, before its debut, Ironheart faced negative reviews even before it premiered, giving it a 32% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on Collider’s report. However, it appears that the site has since resolved the problem, as now Ironheart holds a 70% audience score.

In the gaming world, I’ve found myself stumbling upon a freshly-released show that’s been swiftly under fire, with an initial rating of 4.7/10 on IMDb.

On numerous occasions, internet trolls who seem to have an excess of free time have been known to attack shows, particularly those that feature characters of color, including upcoming series like Star Wars: The Acolyte in 2024 and Ms. Marvel in 2022, which unfortunately faced similar instances of prejudice.

Feedback on Ironheart has been somewhat divided. While some viewers are appreciating the acting, particularly Thorne’s performance, others feel that the show lacks pace and loses momentum too quickly. Critics such as Jonathan Sim from ComingSoon rated it 8/10, describing it as one of Marvel’s strongest efforts in portraying street-level superhero stories on streaming platforms. On the other hand, Matt Morrison from SuperHeroHype gave it a score of 5/10, expressing that the overall production “fails to impress.

At the moment, you can stream the initial three episodes of Ironheart on Disney+. The remaining three episodes will become available for streaming starting from July 1, 2025.
