Since the release of Elden Ring: Nightreign, players have persistently been drawn to it, pursuing its formidable bosses in relentless dashes through The Lands Between. Now, Everdark Sovereigns have increased the game’s difficulty, and FromSoftware has announced a new adversary: Fulghor, Champion of Nightglow, also known as the Darkdrift Knight.
This week, FromSoftware revealed Fulghor as the next character to take on the role of the Everdark Sovereign in a social media post. In an upcoming update for Elden Ring titled Nightreign, players will have the opportunity to encounter the Everdark Sovereign version of Fulghor in a new type of hunt called Expeditions. These Everdark Sovereign Expeditions are challenging hunts within Nightreign where you’ll fight tougher enemies and face off against more powerful final bosses. Previously, The Gaping Jaw, Adel, Baron of Night, was the first Everdark Sovereign, and he presented quite a formidable challenge for players.
In Elden Ring Nightreign, a hunter who prowls the night as the Night King will appear from June 26th. The appearance period is set for June 26 (Fri) 10:00 to July 3 (Sat) 9:59. For more details about the Night King, please check the link provided. We look forward to your participation.

Fulghor is expected to be more challenging than the Gaping Jaw, given that the Darkdrift Knight is one of the hardest battles in the game. He’s a centaur wielding an enormous sword, capable of charging attacks and explosive holy damage. He’s quite elusive unless you have ranged weapons. It will be intriguing to see what a more powerful Fulghor might look like, if not a bit terrifying.
Today, June 25th, marks the conclusion of our final opportunity with the Gaping Jaw Everdark Sovereign. Following this, from June 26th, 2025, through July 2nd, 2025, the Darkdrift Knight will take over.
