Fans who were eagerly waiting to see the “Blinding Lights” performer on that day will have to wait another time, as the event had to be called off due to some unforeseen issues. Despite this setback, the artist is still scheduled to perform the following night as planned.
The Weeknd cancels Las Vegas concert, here’s why
The July 4 performance by The Weeknd at Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas, has been called off due to complications with the setup process, as reported by a fan who shared a team message on Reddit. The artist’s team is currently exploring options for a potential reschedule of the show. Additionally, fans have been informed that Ticketmaster will issue refunds automatically within 14 to 21 days.
As a die-hard fan, I’m super stoked that the July 5th concert is still happening! There are still some tickets left for this epic event, which is part of The Weeknd’s After Hours Til Dawn tour. This North American leg of the tour kicked off in May and runs until September. Before he graces the stage in Las Vegas, The Weeknd will be rocking four nights at the SoFi Stadium in L.A., on June 25th, 26th, 28th, and 29th. Can’t wait to catch him live!
On this tour, we’ve encountered another unexpected obstacle before. In the year 2023, The Weeknd had to cancel 11 shows in Australia and New Zealand due to unforeseen circumstances. Nevertheless, the After Hours Til Dawn tour has continued to be a massive worldwide phenomenon since it began in July 2022.
Currently, the tour is showcasing his recently dropped album titled “Hurry Up Tomorrow,” which hit the shelves in January. This venture boasts some high-profile artists like Travis Scott, Future, Lana Del Rey, and Playboi Carti as collaborators. The tracks “Timeless” by The Weeknd and Playboi Carti reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Despite the positive response to the album, its accompanying movie titled “Hurry Up Tomorrow” hasn’t been as successful. With an estimated budget of $15 million, it managed to bring in just $7.6 million at the box office and faced criticism for its narrative and The Weeknd’s acting performance.
