According to reports, McDowell admitted he wasn’t feeling well and suspected he might have experienced a stroke.

Later on, Tyler Dean, McDowell’s son, reassured fans via Facebook, expressing understanding for their worry about the musician. He assured that he would share updates if needed. At roughly the same time, McDowell’s official Facebook page encouraged fans to hold the singer in their thoughts and prayers. They also disclosed that the family would post updates on his health status through their personal channels.
