As a gamer, diving headfirst into Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, I was hooked by the allure of the Deflecting Hardtear buff – it made me feel like the unstoppable John Sekiro himself! However, this intriguing feature is hidden behind the DLC that demands players conquer Mohg. Let’s just say, he isn’t a foe I’d casually bump into during my early-game adventures.
For fans of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice (and there are plenty of us!), excitement surged when FromSoftware unveiled the Executor in Elden Ring Nightreign. However, even though I’ve nearly scratched that familiar itch, it doesn’t quite compare to the original experience.
Firstly, the Executor’s stance with the cursed sword is primarily defensive, resembling the Guardian’s Steel Guard in a way that allows the Executor to firmly plant his feet and deflect incoming attacks correctly. However, when not on the defensive, it’s essential to strike with two katanas that enhance status for substantial damage.
the Executor, who is essentially Wolf from Sekiro, has been brought over to Elden Ring by modders.
In Elden Ring mod, the Executor character is seized by the neck, pulled from Limveld, and set down in Limgrave instead. This modification alters the Executor’s katana techniques, enabling you to fight using his sword style. Additionally, with precise timing, you can become invulnerable to Margit, making him appear weak in combat.
NinjaRaiden, the creator of this mod, along with contributions from McKenyu, showcased a developmental video of the mod. However, if you’d like to see a complete gameplay walkthrough using the mod, check out Allence’s YouTube channel below for a full playthrough. Additionally, there is another mod by madao112 linked that provides players with the Executor’s armor.
In simpler terms, NinjaRaiden is working on an update that allows customization, allowing you to select which features from the Executor you prefer to be transferred over. For example, by default, the Executor comes equipped with the Nightreign sprint, but this can slightly disrupt the balance of regular Elden Ring bosses.
The rapid conversion of Executor into Elden Ring‘s core suggests one thing to me: I’m far from the only one craving more Sekiro. Though some may be weary of parrying, I remain an ardent deflection enthusiast, and I make no apologies for it. Once I tire of Nightreign, you can count on me buying this mod and returning to the Lands Between. Radahn and I have a score to settle that promises to be Promised.
