Fans of The View might find it unexpected that Whoopi Goldberg wasn’t part of the panel during Monday’s broadcast. It has been announced that the Academy Award-winning actress won’t be present throughout this week and will rejoin the show following its traditional break for Independence Day.

Why is Whoopi Goldberg not on The View this week?
This week, Whoopi Goldberg is missing from the show due to her travels in Italy where she’s receiving recognition for her book, “Bits and Pieces: My Mother, My Brother, and Me.” Joy Behar expressed on Monday’s The View that we’re all a little envious of Whoopi, as she’s currently enjoying herself in Italy (hopefully it’s quite warm). She also mentioned that Whoopi will be away this week since she’s attending an award ceremony for her book.
Besides sharing her Italy trip on Instagram, Whoopi Goldberg expressed gratitude for receiving an award at the Taormina International Book Festival. In her post, she thanked them for offering a remarkable experience in a unique setting, a distinguished honor, and their kindness. She emphasized that books hold great significance for everyone around the world.
When will Whoopi Goldberg return to The View?
During Goldberg’s absence, Joy Behar steps in as the temporary host for “The View.” After this current week, the program takes its yearly vacation. In other words, viewers won’t see Whoopi Goldberg back on “The View” until July 7, 2025, following the show’s brief return from its one-week hiatus.
In the upcoming week filled with significant global happenings, fans might unfortunately not enjoy Goldberg’s commentary. Let’s hope the show runs smoothly even without Whoopi Goldberg’s presence.
