During the weekend, Sega unveiled a fresh trailer for their upcoming racing game, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. This trailer showed that SpongeBob SquarePants and his friend Patrick Star would be added to the race as downloadable content (DLC). Furthermore, it was revealed that characters from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Avatar Legends would join the lineup at a later time.
When does the TMNT and Avatar Legends DLC come to Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds?
The trailer, available for viewing below, demonstrates gameplay featuring both SpongeBob and his buddy Patrick. These beloved Nickelodeon personalities will join Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds as part of its Season Pass, offering a grand total of 6 Content Packs. Each pack includes characters, vehicles, tracks, and emoticons, all of which are highlighted in the trailer.
The final scene in the trailer hints at additional content for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds – downloadable packages featuring Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) and Avatar Legends. Details about these expansions are scant, but since it mentions “TMNT: Mutant Mayhem,” we can expect the characters in that pack to be modeled after the 2023 movie.
Currently, no specific launch dates have been announced for any Content Packs in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. Nevertheless, a suggested sequence of release appears to be in place. First up is the Minecraft Pack, followed by SpongeBob SquarePants, then TMNT: Mutant Mayhem, and Avatar Legends comes fourth. The identities of the fifth and sixth packs remain undisclosed as of now.
The game “Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds” is set to race its way onto PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch (version 2 and the original), as well as PC platforms including Steam and Epic Games Store on September 25.
Currently available for pre-order are two distinct versions of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. The Standard Version costs $69.99 and comprises only the fundamental game.
