In upcoming releases, he’s eagerly awaiting, he pointed out that South cinema has been more authentic to its Indian heritage compared to Bollywood, which seems to have shifted towards a more commercial and profit-driven approach.
Pawan Kalyan slams Hindi cinema for being affected by globalisation
In a recent conversation with Organizer Weekly, Pawan Kalyan expressed his view that the label “Hindi cinema,” often used for Indian films as a whole, is too general. Instead, he emphasized that each film industry in India showcases unique and independent strengths.
Later, he pointed out that it’s quite unusual for Hindi films to be deeply rooted in Indian culture, given that Bollywood, being a more globally oriented and financially driven industry, is less likely to focus on such connections.
He remarked, “Over the years, the nature of films has evolved significantly as a result of directors from various eras shaping it. Notably, Indian cinema has been impacted by globalization. Consequently, certain films have trivialized culturally significant characters.
Pawan Kalyan claims South cinema represent more Indian culture
Later on, Pawan Kalyan emphasized the point that Southern films have been dedicated to portraying Indian culture more authentically compared to Bollywood productions.
In the opinion of the actor, Indian cinema seldom creates movies that are deeply rooted in tradition, like the film “Dangal” featuring Aamir Khan, which serve as honorable representations of our rich cultural heritage.
Currently, South Indian films are more prominently showcasing Indian culture compared to before. This trend was also seen in Hindi cinema for some time, such as the movie Dangal, which embodied Indian culture. It was a deeply rooted film that resonated with your sense of being Indian. However, this type of movie is less common these days.
Pawan Kalyan’s work front
In terms of his career, Pawan Kalyan is aiming for an imminent new movie premiere titled Hari Hara Veera Mallu. This film is planned to debut in cinemas on July 24, 2025.
Furthermore, he plans to star in the movie “They Call Him OG,” set to hit screens on September 25 this year. Similarly, “Ustaad Bhagat Singh” is marked on his schedule for a future release.
