The upcoming film “Jana Nayagan,” starring Thalapathy Vijay, is set for release on January 9, 2026. As this H Vinoth directorial is believed to be the superstar’s last movie before he transitions into a full-time politician, co-actress Mamitha Baiju shares some interesting details about it.
At the Kerala Carnival in Ireland, a Premalu actress stated, “During our time filming together, I playfully asked if Jana Nayagan was really his last movie. In response, Vijay sir openly admitted that it depends on election results and we’ll have to wait and see what transpires.” (Informal translation from Malayalam)
To put it simply, whether or not Thalapathy Vijay continues his acting career in cinema could hinge on how well he performs in the anticipated Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, tentatively scheduled for 2026, if he decides to participate as a politician.
Discussing her recent work with Vijay, Mamitha mentioned that as our time together came to an end, I, like others, felt quite emotional. On the final day, he too showed signs of emotion. It’s been reported that on this day, the superstar found it difficult to take pictures with the cast and crew.
