Predictably enough, the rumor has sparked some criticism from certain fan groups as well. @simplepeep voiced their concern, “I’m sorry, but can’t you find a real actor/actress for that role?” Meanwhile, @southernstonerd raised concerns about the height difference between Carpenter and Dazzler’s character in the MCU. It is worth noting that Carpenter stands at roughly 5 feet or 152 cm, while Dazzler (Alison “Ali” Blaire) is reportedly taller, around 5 feet 8 inches or approximately 172 cm, in the comic books.

Tom DeFalco and John Romita Jr. introduced the mutant Dazzler in The Uncanny X-Men #130, published in February 1980.
