According to The Hollywood Reporter, there’s talk that Bobin might take the helm for Netflix’s live-action version of Dragon’s Lair. Discussions about this project have been ongoing since 2020 when Netflix gave it the greenlight after acquiring the rights. Besides starring in the adaptation, Reynolds is also set to produce the production. Roy Lee from Vertigo Entertainment, Trevor Engelson from Underground, Don Bluth, Gary Goldman, and others will join him as producers of this feature film.

The original Dragon’s Lair, a popular arcade game, dominated the ’80s gaming scene and even held the title of most popular U.S. game at one point. Over the subsequent years, additional episodes like Dragon’s Lair II: Time Warp and Dragon’s Lair 3D: Return to the Lair were introduced. Towards the end of 1984, ABC briefly aired an animated series inspired by the initial game.

In November 2022, Reynolds spoke about Netflix’s adaptation of Dragon’s Lair during an interview with Collider. He mentioned that the collaboration between them felt unique in a way he hadn’t experienced before. Reynolds suggested that the strategy they were using for the project might take many by surprise because of its extensive nature. He also expressed his eagerness to see how it would unfold.

The actor who played Deadpool and Wolverine explained, “It’s uniquely connected to technology I’ve never encountered in the entertainment world before. They’re making some very innovative attempts at this intellectual property in a way that leaves me astonished. I’m thrilled they’re on this journey with us too.
