Dead By Daylight FNAF launch smashes DBD record in game’s biggest day ever

The game Dead by Daylight has consistently been well-liked, and its dedicated fanbase has recently received an outstanding addition in the form of the FNAF Chapter. This new chapter comes with significant updates in version 9.0.0, along with the debut of Behaviour’s official DBD Stats Tracker. It’s thrilling that this collaboration has finally materialized since it’s a crossover that Dead by Daylight fans have eagerly anticipated for years. The FNAF Chapter is so expansive that it has already surpassed Dead by Daylight’s record for the biggest single day in the game’s history.

Five Nights At Freddy’s Chapter smashes Dead By Daylight record

Back on June 17th, I was thrilled when Five Nights at Freddy’s made its way into Dead by Daylight! The excitement was palpable as we all logged in, and the peak concurrent player count on Steam skyrocketed to an astounding 106,029! What a terrifyingly fun experience it’s been!

The highest number of players ever recorded on BeHaviour’s platform was 105,093 in June 2021. This significant milestone coincided with the release of the first collaboration between DBD (Dead by Daylight) and Resident Evil on June 15th. The crossover event featured Leon and Jill Valentine as Survivors, Raccoon City as a map, and Nemesis as the Killer.

In June 2022, the game reached an impressive high of 96,580 players. Interestingly, this milestone wasn’t associated with a licensed chapter since it was the initial episode, titled “Roots of Dread,” featuring Haddie Kauer and The Dredge. To add to that, Dead By Daylight experienced a peak concurrent player count of 99,859 in July 2024, which coincided with BeHaviour introducing Lara Croft as a standalone Survivor.

It’s quite remarkable how Five Nights at Freddy’s (FNAF) has managed to surpass Dead By Daylight (DBD) as its largest chapter yet. Given FNAF’s vast fanbase, this isn’t entirely unexpected, but it’s still astonishing that it outperformed Resident Evil, a significant achievement considering DBD is almost a decade old.

Even though the FNAF Chapter is vast, there’s still a lot more for Dead By Daylight enthusiasts to look forward to. Up next is the final Twisted Masquerade event to mark the game’s 9th anniversary, and in July, we can expect two licensed survivors, who might be from The Walking Dead.
