Actress Jennifer Love Hewitt, who played a key role in “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” offers hints about the character Julie James for the forthcoming fourth movie edition, piquing audience curiosity.

Previously, viewers last encountered the character in the 1998 sequel titled I Still Know What You Did Last Summer. Despite showing Julie living a tranquil life in the film, its closing scenes suggested that she was yet to break free from the clutches of the Fisherman. As we approach the fourth installment, Hewitt gives us a glimpse into how Julie has been since the events of the second movie.

What did Jennifer Love Hewitt say about her character in I Know What You Did Last Summer?

During a chat with ExtraTV, the actress shared that the character Julie James, as depicted in future movies, will be distinct from her teenage self seen in the initial films. She stressed that the present-day Julie carries the weight of her harrowing past ordeals.

Hewitt mentioned that she’s quite distinct, yet some characteristics of her might surface as he intended for them to be included. Notably, she’s in her 40s and has endured a lot over the years. He believes she’s learned ways to cope with whatever she’s faced. She’s a professor specializing in psychology, particularly focusing on the brain, mental health, and trauma-related stress disorders.

She added, “I believe she’s managed to arrange her circumstances in life that allow her to cope daily with the events from her teenage years. There’s something about her that feels more raw and amusing. Her humor in this film is particularly enjoyable to me.
