Actor Nagarjuna Akkineni is all set for the premiere of Kuberaa on June 20, 2025, alongside Dhanush. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the seasoned actor reminisced about his initial encounter with Coolie.
According to him, the actor replied, “Lokesh approached me with the question, ‘Would it be alright if I cast you as a villain?’ To which I responded, ‘Show me the script, and I’ll consider it.’ I’m not opposed to the idea.
Initially, he assured me that it’s fine if I didn’t care for the script, suggesting we could chat over tea instead, with him departing afterwards. However, Lokesh began reciting the script, and by midway through, I was captivated. Consequently, I asked him to return about six to seven times so he could read it again.
In wrapping up his thoughts, Nagarjuna shared that if someone were to ask him about his feelings while working on Coolie, he would respond by saying it was an incredibly freeing experience.

The eagerly anticipated film is set for premiere on the silver screen on August 14, 2025. Coincidentally, this date also marks the Independence Week, which means it will compete with the movie “War 2,” starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR.
On the professional side of Nagarjuna Akkineni, he will appear in the film “Kuberaa,” directed by Sekhar Kammula. This social thriller pairs him with Dhanush as co-leads. The story revolves around a beggar and an accountant, both of whom become embroiled in a scheme to defraud a wealthy businessman, delving into the intricate world of financial scams.
In addition to the main characters, the film features Rashmika Mandanna, Jim Sarbh, Dilip Tahil, and several others in important parts.
