As Nagarjuna Akkineni eagerly prepares for the premiere of his upcoming movie “Kuberaa” alongside Dhanush, set to release on June 20, 2025, he was questioned about the contrast between collaborating with Lokesh Kanagaraj and Sekhar Kammula.
As I chatted with Galatta Plus, the actor and I found ourselves remarking on our surprising similarities in our approach to communication, even though we come from distinct backgrounds in the world of cinema.
Nagarjuna stated, “Sekhar Kammula has a knack for making things feel incredibly authentic, from people’s attire to their hairstyles and various details. In contrast, Lokesh prefers the exaggerated style of cinema, which is my personal preference.
As a lifestyle expert, I’d put it this way: “In one instance, Sekhar would approach me and remark, ‘Nag, you’re striding like a leader…try to tone it down, not needed.’ Contrastingly, Lokesh would advise, ‘Sir…enter as if you’re a tiger when you walk into a room. I want people to feel intimidated by just your glance.'” He further emphasized.
Discussing the distinctive styles of filmmaking employed by the director, Nagarjuna pointed out that Kammula strives to make his characters appear authentic and genuine.
On the other hand, Lokesh would make one look larger than life, even with a simple camera angle.
As a lifestyle expert, I’d put it this way: In the realm of cinema, Kuberaa presents a captivating social thriller. The narrative revolves around an intriguing tale of a street beggar who unexpectedly finds himself ensnared in a web of deceit woven by a cunning chartered accountant. However, the plot takes an interesting twist when the beggar manages to outwit his manipulator. The ensuing conflict becomes a riveting battle of wits between them, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats.
In addition to the main stars, the film features Rashmika Mandanna, Jim Sarbh, Dilip Tahil, and several others in prominent positions.
Conversely, Coolie is an action-packed film starring Rajinikanth, which has garnered much anticipation. The film includes significant roles for Nagarjuna Akkineni and Upendra Rao, while Aamir Khan appears in a special guest role.
The movie featuring Shruti Haasan, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, and others is scheduled to premiere on August 14, 2025. It’s worth noting that it will coincide with the release of Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s movie, War 2, in theaters as well.
