Information straight from IGN Live 2025 indicates that work is currently being done on the fourth season of “The Legend of Vox Machina.” This update suggests a potential release in 2025. Excitingly, Travis Willingham disclosed that the voice recording process has already started. The animated series is carrying forward its adaptation of Critical Role’s initial Dungeons & Dragons campaign.

At the Critical Role’s IGN Live event in 2025, Travis Willingham shared that The Legend of Vox Machina is being developed for Season 4. Essentially, he stated that work on this new season has commenced and it’s happening concurrently with the production of Mighty Nein and Critical Role’s third campaign which ended in February 2025. He found it extraordinary to juggle these projects because of the mental transition required between different characters.

In October 2024, Amazon officially renewed Season 4 of the show, but fans had little news until Willingham’s announcement. At the end of Season 3, the group split up following their resurrection of Percy and hinting at a looming threat from The Whispered One, or Vecna, as he is also known. It appears that Season 4 will bring the team back together to confront this peril.

In addition, Willingham shared insights about the upcoming animated series for Critical Role titled Mighty Nein. He announced that they have already recorded both season one and two, meaning that both seasons are now completed. Unlike Vox Machina, this show will concentrate on a group of strangers learning to collaborate. The production team has ensured to include moments that fans, as well as the creators and game masters, have eagerly anticipated.

Since its debut in 2022, The Legend of Vox Machina has been releasing a fresh season every year. At present, they are busy with voice recording sessions for Season 4, aiming to release it by 2025.
