2010 marked the release of one of the most cherished Telugu romantic films, Ye Maaya Chesave, which gained popularity among viewers. Featuring Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, this movie later played a significant role in the actors’ lives as they got married in 2017.

Gautham Vasudev Menon approached Mahesh Babu for Ye Maaya Chesave
Previously, director Gautham Vasudev Menon intended to cast Mahesh Babu in the leading role for his Telugu romantic film. He had even shared the storyline with the actor from Guntur, popularly known as Kaaram.
Contrary to the director’s expectations, things didn’t turn out as planned. Mahesh opted against accepting the lead role opposite Samantha Ruth Prabhu in her debut film. As per a News18 report, it was believed that the film wouldn’t align with Mahesh’s established star persona.
Ye Maaya Chesave was also simultaneously shot in Tamil
As I immersed myself in the making of this Telugu romantic drama, an intriguing twist unfolded: Simultaneously, the same director was working on a Tamil remake of the very same film.
Instead, Silambarasan TR and Trisha Krishnan took over as leads in the Tamil adaptation of the original story, titled “Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa”. Interestingly, this version hit the screens a day prior to its Telugu counterpart.
Upon its release, it was widely praised by critics, and over time, the movies directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon have grown to be massive successes and beloved cult favorites.

Lately, there’s been talk about Samantha’s Ye Maaya Chesave tattoo that she had on her back, a symbol closely tied to her former husband and co-star, Naga Chaitanya, from the movie.
It seems that, as reported by online users, some recent photos of the actress Yashoda suggest that she may have had a tattoo representing her past relationship with her former husband removed, as this was one of the three tattoos she initially got to symbolize their connection.
