New Freakier Friday Trailer: Lindsay Lohan & Jamie Lee Curtis Are Teens Again

Disney recently unveiled an exciting fresh trailer for the upcoming sequel of the classic 2003 comedy, titled “Freakier Friday”. This movie is set to hit theaters on August 8, 2025.

In the movie, Anna is a mother to a child of her own now and is about to become a stepmother. As they face the complexities that arise when two households blend, Tess and Anna find out that love may just happen again, much like it did in the past. This is the story’s summary.

What happens in the Freakier Friday trailer?

In the video, we see Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis portraying their characters again undergoing a soul-changing event before Anna’s wedding. This time, instead of each other, they will exchange identities with two feuding teenage girls. The upcoming installment brings back familiar faces such as Mark Harmon playing Ryan, Chad Michael Murray as Jake, Christina Vidal Mitchell as Maddie, Haley Hudson as Peg, Rosalind Chao as Pei-Pei, Lucille Soong as Pei-Pei’s mother, and Stephen Tobolowsky as Mr. Bates.

Freakier Friday, the upcoming movie, is helmed by director Nisha Ganatra (known for Late Night). The script was penned by Jordan Weiss, inspired by Mary Rodgers’ 1972 book of the same name. Unlike the original storyline, this sequel unfolds in a later timeframe and introduces fresh faces such as Manny Jacinto from The Good Place, Sophia Hammons, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan from Never Have I Ever, and Julia Butters who has been seen in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and The Fabelmans. Production is under the leadership of Curtis, Andrew Gunn, and Kristin Burr, with Lohan, Nathan Kelly, and Ann Marie Sanderlin serving as executive producers.
