Ballerina Box Office Predicted To Open Bigger Than John Wick

With Ana De Armas’ movie “Ballerina” set to hit theaters on June 6, anticipation is growing that the film will have a strong debut at the box office. Preliminary estimates suggest that it may even surpass the domestic opening weekend earnings of John Wick: Chapter 2 from 2017.

Ballerina’s box office has already made $3.5 million in previews

According to Deadline’s reports, the movie Ballerina, with a production budget estimated at $80-$90 million, is expected to gather over $30 million in its initial three-day run at the domestic box office. If this spin-off film indeed achieves this figure, it will surpass the opening weekend earnings of the first two John Wick films.

In their initial weekend showings, John Wick and John Wick: Chapter 2 earned $14.4 million and $30.4 million respectively. It is projected that the upcoming film Ballerina will not reach the amounts John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum ($56.8 million) and John Wick: Chapter 4 ($73.8 million) made during their opening weekends at the domestic box office.

The forecast based on Deadline’s reports indicates that Ballerina may earn an extra $3.5 million to $4 million during its previews. These earnings come from the spin-off movie’s early screenings that started on Wednesday at 7 PM, as well as those on Thursday, which began at 6 PM.

Beyond its anticipated earnings at the box office, the film “Ballerina” has earned praise from critics. Jonathan Sim of ComingSoon.net, for instance, labels it as an exceptional addition to the series, praising it as “action perfection,” and noting that it delivers the intense action, chaos, and destruction that fans of the franchise have come to anticipate. Currently, on Rotten Tomatoes, it boasts a 73% approval rating from 136 reviews, while its audience score stands impressively high at 93%.
