2025’s Summer Game Fest has officially begun! We’ve just wrapped up a State of Play from Sony, which was a good gathering displaying intriguing titles like IO Interactive’s 007 and Silent Hill F by Konami. Although the State of Play was exciting, Geoff Keighley’s show promises to be even more spectacular. Here you can find the countdown to the start time of Summer Game Fest 2025, as well as confirmed games and some tantalizing rumors that might or might not materialize.

When does Summer Game Fest 2025 start?

The official start time for Summer Game Fest 2025 has been set as follows:

Exciting leaks

For Summer Game Fest 2025, we can’t guarantee every possible leak, but we’ll certainly spotlight some of the most thrilling ones. Among these, the most eagerly awaited is likely the unveiling of Resident Evil 9. According to MP1st, it will be “unveiled this week,” a claim that NateTheHate confirms as “accurate.” Despite speculations that it might have been shown at State of Play due to past Resident Evils being announced on PlayStation platforms, it didn’t occur. Here’s hoping we’ll witness the comeback of Resident Evil at SGF instead.

It appears there’s a possibility that ARC Raiders, developed by the creators of The Finals, could receive an unexpected drop (shadowdrop) on Steam, as suggested by recent updates to the game. A new .EXE file added in the update includes a timer that aligns with SGF, leading some to believe this might be a shadowdrop release or perhaps the start of another beta test or play session.

Instead of Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest, MP1st anticipates that we will also unveil a remake for Persona 4 during the Xbox Showcase. It appears to be a remake of Persona 4 Golden instead of the original version, and it is rumored to be scheduled for early 2026.

Although it hasn’t been officially announced yet, we’re optimistically waiting for the unveiling of Tomb Raider 12. NateTheHate hinted that at least one among Tomb Raider, Wolf Among Us 2, and 007 would be featured in Geoff Keighley’s show. Since 007 has already made its appearance at State of Play and will be shown during an IO Interactive event, we’re keeping our fingers crossed that this implies the potential reveal of Tomb Raider 12 is still on the table. However, it would be wise not to get your hopes too high just yet.

It’s been rumored that there might be a new God of War game in the works, with elements similar to Metroidvania and a 2.5D perspective. These leaks originate from Tom Henderson, and they hint that this could be a prequel, taking place before Kratos ascended to godhood, possibly featuring Kratos’ brother, Deimos as the main character. Since it wasn’t featured at State of Play, there’s speculation that it might make an appearance at Summer Game Fest instead. Previous reports suggest that this side adventure could be released in 2025.

Confirmed games

As a devoted gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that games already confirmed for Summer Game Fest 2025 include the highly anticipated The First Descendant. Nexon has officially announced on X platform that TFD will grace Geoff Keighley’s show, offering a tantalizing glimpse of what Season 3 might hold in store for us!

The classic Mafia: The Old Country is set to make a comeback in the show, offering fans an exciting preview before its launch on August 8th. Similarly, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers will be featured at SGF as part of its promotional efforts prior to its release on July 24th.

Additionally, more confirmed titles join the lineup with MMORPG Chrono Odyssey and Crystal of Atlan. Notably, Owlcat Games, creators of the critically acclaimed Pathfinder RPGs, have hinted at their attendance at Summer Game Fest. However, what they will unveil remains a secret for now.

To wrap it up, it’s been confirmed that Hideo Kojima himself will also join us at SGF. There’s a strong possibility that Death Stranding 2 might be unveiled there. Fingers crossed, we might catch a glimpse of the eagerly awaited horror title by Kojima, named OD, as well.

Elsewhere in gaming updates, the Chief Creative Officer (CCO) of Helldivers 2 has lauded their collaboration with Tencent, describing China as the “ultimate prize” or “dream destination” within the gaming sector.
