In his recent post about Superman, he shared that the final visual effects shot has been added and the project is now completely finished. The director of Guardians of the Galaxy thanked everyone who helped bring his vision for Superman to life, stating that it was a pleasure working with them. As the excitement for his upcoming Superman film builds, Gunn has been sharing valuable insights about the DC Universe project through his social media posts. Before officially confirming that the movie is fully prepared, he put an end to speculations about the film’s running time by disclosing it himself. In response to a fan’s question on Threads, the co-CEO of DC Studios stated, “With credits and post-credits included, the runtime is 2 hours and 9 minutes.
James Gunn effectively dismissed any worries about studio intervention from Warner Bros., an issue that reportedly impacted Zack Snyder’s DCEU, by clarifying that the shorter length of Superman’s movie was solely a creative choice. He emphasized that there was no pressure from Warner Bros. to shorten the film, stating, “There’s no truth to that. And even if it were something they desired, it wouldn’t be possible. It’s a DC Studios production.
As a gaming enthusiast, I can’t wait to witness the action unfold in the upcoming Superman movie, starring David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, and Nathan Fillion (and many more)! This blockbuster is set to soar into theaters on July 11, 2025.
