Report: Walton Goggins, Eric André & More Circling Street Fighter Roles

Based on recent reports, there’s a possibility that Walton Goggins might play a significant character in Legendary’s live-action Street Fighter film. Additionally, Eric André and Orville Peck are rumored to be under consideration for individual roles within the movie. Previously in May, it was hinted that Jason Momoa, Roman Reigns, Andrew Koji, and Noah Centineo were considering involvement with this project.

Walton Goggins could join Street Fighter cast as M. Bison

According to Jeff Sneider, who is both an industry insider and journalist, Walton Goggins may be in negotiations to join the cast as M. Bison, the main adversary, in the upcoming Street Fighter movie. Previously, the role of General M. Bison was played by the late Raul Julia in the 1994 adaptation of the Capcom video game series. Sneider and his co-host John Rocha spoke about this news in their latest podcast episode.

When asked for his reaction to this recent turn of events, Sneider confessed that he was “somewhat taken aback,” as he had assumed Goggins was experiencing a peak in success and riding high. He further noted, “I expected him to secure something a bit more prestigious; however, it could also be the perfect moment for him to earn a decent paycheck from a movie role.

In recent times, as Sneider pointed out, Goggins has significantly expanded his acting career on TV. He played Baby Billy Freeman in HBO’s The Righteous Gemstones, Ghoul / Cooper Howard in Amazon’s Fallout, Rick Ha tchett in HBO’s The White Lotus, and he lends his voice to Cecil Stedman in Amazon’s Invincible.

Eric André and Orville Peck could play the announcer and Vega in Street Fighter

Additionally, it was proposed that Eric André and Orville Peck could potentially take on the roles of the ring announcer and Vega, respectively, in Street Fighter – roles previously held by Jay Tavare in the 1994 movie.

1) In the games, Vega hails from Spain and dons a mask as he fights. He’s unique because he combines Japanese ninjutsu techniques with bullfighting to develop his own combat style. André, on the other hand, collaborated with the film’s director Kitao Sakurai in the 2021 movie Bad Trip. Unlike André, Peck is primarily a musician and often wears a mask during public performances.
