As a gamer, I’ve noticed that playing my favorite Nintendo Switch titles on the new Nintendo Switch 2 isn’t always seamless. While most games work just fine, there are a handful that have some strange compatibility quirks which require updates. Unfortunately, Super Smash Bros Ultimate is one of those games that seems to be affected by these issues.

As a gamer, I’ve run into an odd predicament while playing the newest version of Smash Bros with friends who own different consoles – it seems there’s a glitch that’s causing some trouble during multiplayer sessions. However, I’m glad to say that a fix is on its way!

Super Smash Bros Ultimate Mii Fighter glitch

According to Nintendo Japan, the Mii Fighter character in Super Smash Bros Ultimate may disrupt or cause issues in a multiplayer game if used by someone playing on the original Nintendo Switch and another player using the new Switch 2.

Nintendo advises that employing a specific character on either Nintendo Switch console will lead to an immediate termination of online games for all players involved. Utilizing this character may not only disconnect everyone but also potentially cause the entire game to malfunction or freeze.

Nintendo has announced that they’ll be releasing an update in the near future to tackle the problem affecting all Nintendo Switch models. At this moment, there is no specific date scheduled for when the update will become available.

It appears that Nintendo hasn’t provided a reason for the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Mii Fighter bug when using two Nintendo Switch consoles. It could potentially be related to the subtly distinct methods these consoles use in customizing their Miis.

I’ve been fortunate enough not to encounter many people who primarily use Mii Fighters in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. In truth, during my entire experience playing online since the game’s release, I haven’t faced off against a player using Mii Fighter once. Thus, it’s likely that this won’t pose much of a challenge for other online players.
