Why General Hospital Fans Are Angry About Lucky Leaving

Surprisingly and seemingly unexpected, character Lucky (previously played by Jonathan Jackson) will soon depart from General Hospital following his recent return. This news follows Lucky’s rejection of Elizabeth’s (portrayed by Rebecca Herbst) marriage proposal, leaving fans of the series displeased.

Fans hate Lucky’s storyline before leaving General Hospital

Jonathan Jackson first took up the role in 1991, when he was just 11 years old. He continued to play this role until 1999 and won three Daytime Emmy Awards for ‘Outstanding Younger Actor’. In 2009, this actor reprised his character, Lucky, but two other actors had played the part in the intervening years. He left the show again in 2011, only to return briefly in 2015 for a few episodes.

In his recent appearance, Lucky stayed on the show for an extended period. However, when it appeared that his character’s plot was developing, he left General Hospital again. Frank Valentini expressed in a statement, “We were thrilled to have Jonathan back as Lucky, even if it was temporary. We wish him only the best and hope he returns someday.

In the latest episode, we saw Lucky departing, following Elizabeth’s rejection of his marriage proposal due to her doubts about his willingness to remain in Port Charles long-term. However, viewers expressed disappointment with this storyline unfolding.

In a Facebook post, numerous fans expressed their disappointment that Lucky’s return was not handled well, with some comments including: “Why bring him back at all if this was the outcome?” and “This Lucky storyline is disappointing on General Hospital, poor writing, he didn’t even have a proper storyline.

It’s possible that Lucky might reappear at General Hospital in the future. However, his departure has left many fans feeling disheartened, with some expressing their disappointment about Jonathan Jackson’s decision to move on.
