Initially, when Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater debuted on PlayStation 2, it included a humorous side quest that bridged with another PlayStation series. In this mission, Snake was assigned to locate monkeys from Ape Escape before they caused chaos with their mischievous behavior. This mission has been reprised in the PlayStation version of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, and it appears that the PC edition of the game will also incorporate these animal-related escapades.
Casual observers of the recently released Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater gameplay trailer on Konami’s YouTube channel, who tuned in shortly after its debut during the PlayStation State of Play June 2025 showcase, might have spotted the following details in the trailer’s description:
The special game “Snake vs Monkey” to capture the Pipo Monkeys is back for PS5® & Steam®!
In the Xbox version of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, you won’t find the Ape Escape side mission. Instead, Snake is set to face off against another Konami character, Bomberman, as suggested in the release date trailer on the Xbox YouTube channel. Moreover, this latest trailer hinted at a bonus feature – multiplayer gameplay. We’ll delve deeper and share more information when we have it.
Keep an eye out for the release of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, scheduled for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on August 28th.
