Today’s PlayStation State of Play presentation unveiled 007 First Light, the latest James Bond video game from IO Interactive. For the first time, we get a glimpse into their fresh take on the Bond character through this newly released trailer.
When is the 007 First Light release date?
In the initial preview, it appears that 007 First Light offers a fresh take on the classic and enduring spy series we all know and love. The narrative focuses on a young James Bond embarking on his MI6 training journey. IO Interactive refers to this as a “backstory” for their character depiction.

As a fresh, energetic, and occasionally daring trainee in MI6’s ranks, I step into the shoes of the iconic James Bond in 007 First Light. This game takes me on an exciting journey, unveiling the captivating backstory of the world-renowned spy.
007 First Light, similar to James Bond, will include characters from the series such as M, Q, and Moneypenny. Additionally, it will introduce fresh faces, including Greenway, who serves as Bond’s guide in the game’s narrative.

007 First Light, initially unveiled as “Project 007” in November 2020, had been shrouded in mystery until recently when its complete title was disclosed.
007 First Light is expected to debut on PlayStation 5 in the year 2026. The exact release date has yet to be disclosed. This game will support PlayStation 5 Pro Enhancement, leveraging PlayStation’s Spectral Super Resolution technology, and will offer a Quality Mode running at 60 frames per second.
