The popular indie horror multiplayer game, Phasmophobia, developed by Kinetic Games, is set to join other video games being turned into films. The upcoming Phasmophobia film will be produced by Blumhouse, a well-known name in the horror genre, alongside Kinetic Games.
Kinetic Games unveiled plans for a Phasmophobia movie in an official announcement. The renowned studio Blumhouse, known for creating chilling horror series such as The Conjuring and its spin-off Annabelle, will transform the widely popular cooperative ghost-hunting game into a film. Daniel Knight, the lead developer of Phasmophobia, issued a statement regarding this exciting development.
Five years ago, we never dreamed that this game would soar to such great heights, but thanks to our remarkable community, Phasmophobia has left a lasting impression in the gaming world and beyond. Collaborating with Blumhouse and Atomic Monster is an exciting new milestone for us, and we eagerly look forward to revealing more details as the project unfolds.
Blumhouse is set to attempt another video game adaptation, having previously taken on Five Nights at Freddy’s in 2023, which was the highest-earning horror movie of that year. Lately, Phasmophobia has released a significant update and surpassed 3 million console sales.
