After creating the cherished label Sies Marjan in New York City, I’ve decided to step back into the spotlight with my own self-titled brand – Sanderlak. Lak, holding a Master’s degree in fashion design from Central Saint Martins, worked for five significant years, designing both men’s and women’s clothing at Dries Van Noten. In 2016, Lak launched Sies Marjan. Supported by billionaire couple Nancy and Howard Marks, awarded as the CFDA Emerging Designer of the Year, and available on prestigious stores like Barneys New York, Sies Marjan still had to shut down in 2020 because of the financial challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sanderlak, backed by angel investors, is set to unveil menswear-inspired collections influenced by Sanderlak’s diverse global upbringing. Having lived in Malaysia, Gabon, Scotland, and the Netherlands, he aims to express his evolving sense of identity and belonging through these collections. Each collection will revolve around a particular location, serving as its muse for themes, color palettes, fabric choices, and overall style.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m excited to share that my favorite brand, Sanderlak, unveils two major drops every year. Next month, they’re going to premiere their inaugural collection in the fashion capital of Paris, exclusively during private meetings.
