An Amazon Prime Video streaming release date for The Accountant 2 has been announced.
In April 2025, the second installment of “The Accountant” was premiered in American movie theaters by Amazon MGM Studios. Gavin O’Connor took charge of directing this sequel to the original film released in 2016. Ben Affleck once again plays Christian Wolff, while Jon Bernthal makes a comeback as Braxton from the previous movie.
When will The Accountant 2 be streaming on Prime Video?
The Accountant 2 will begin streaming globally on Prime Video on Thursday, June 5, 2025.
The summary for the upcoming movie sequel states, “Skilled problem solver Christian Wolff, portrayed by Ben Affleck, is drawn into an investigation after an old friend is slain and leaves a mysterious message urging someone to find ‘the accountant.’ As the case deepens, he enlists the help of his reclusive brother, Brax (played by Jon Bernthal). Together with U.S. Treasury Deputy Director Marybeth Medina (Cynthia Addai-Robinson), they uncover a dangerous conspiracy that places them in the crosshairs of a lethal network of assassins determined to protect their hidden schemes.
In addition, we have Daniella Pineda, Allison Robertson, and J.K. Simmons as part of the cast. The screenplay for this movie was penned by Bill Dubuque. Lastly, Affleck, Lynette Howell Taylor, and Mark Williams are the film’s producers.
In simpler terms, “The Accountant 2” earned more than $100 million worldwide at the ticket sales, and it’s been generally well-received by critics, boasting an approval rating of 76% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Director O’Connor, who helmed the initial installment of the series, has expressed interest in crafting an entire trilogy for The Accountant films. Although The Accountant 3 hasn’t been officially announced yet, the director has hinted that there won’t be another nine-year gap like the one between The Accountant and its sequel this time around.
