For the initial time, stunt performer Thomas Canestraro, who stood in for Justin Baldoni during filming of It Ends with Us, has openly discussed the reported on-set disputes linked to Blake Lively.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, Canestraro stated that Lively seemed more reserved during the last phase of filming in early 2024. This was a significant change compared to his past collaboration with her on A Simple Favor, where he had found working with her effortless. However, on IEWU, there were signs of discomfort not just from Lively but from the entire team.

According to Canestraro, he initially agreed to work for only five days but ended up spending two weeks on the set because of extended filming schedules. He noted that the shooting took longer than anticipated, suggesting that production difficulties may have contributed to the tense atmosphere on set. Canestraro characterized the environment as “tense,” and remarked that Lively’s reserved demeanor was more noticeable compared to their past collaborations.

In addition, Canestraro stated that Ryan Reynolds dropped by the set, which he found quite exciting at the time. Reflecting on it now, he suspects the visit might have had something to do with Lively’s emotional turmoil during filming. A trusted source close to Lively told TMZ her reserved demeanor wasn’t unexpected. This was likely due to the sexual harassment claims she made against Baldoni following the wrap of production.
