Squid Game Season 3 Trailer Highlights Final Games in Netflix Show

Netflix has unveiled the initial teaser for the upcoming Third Season of Squid Game, offering a glimpse into the culmination of the popular Netflix show, featuring various games it contains.

What happens in the Squid Game Season 3 trailer?

In the new trailer, we see Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) reentering the game’s world after the unexpected climax of Season 2. With The Front Man (Lee Byung-hun) once again orchestrating these events, it is now up to Gi-hun to continue his quest to bring an end to these games.

Squid Game Season 3 is set to premiere on June 27, 2025, on Netflix.

In the third and last installment of Squid Game, protagonist Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) grapples with the loss of his friend within the game, and faces despair at the hands of The Front Man (Lee Byung-hun), who had been secretly manipulating the game. Determined to end this deadly contest, Gi-hun presses on, while The Front Man plots his next move. As the remaining players make their choices, each round escalates the stakes, leading to more dire consequences. Anticipation builds as we approach the climactic finale penned and directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk, promising a fitting end to this gripping tale. Will there be any trace of humanity in such a ruthless world?

The ensemble of Squid Game features Gong Yoo, Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Lee Jin-uk, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Lee David, Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won, Jo Yu-ri, and Won Ji-an as its key players.

Hwang Dong-hyuk is responsible for writing, directing, and producing the upcoming season of the show. In an interview with Tudum in 2022, he discussed Squid Game Season 2, stating, “There’s a significant amount of pressure to make [Season 2] even more captivating. I am aware that many viewers from various backgrounds have appreciated the series, but our primary goal is to create something that brings even more delight to global audiences.

In September 2021, the initial season of Squid Game was launched. Swiftly soaring to become one of Netflix’s most-viewed shows ever, it subsequently collected numerous accolades, such as the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series (won by Lee Jung-jae), Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series (awarded to Hwang Dong-hyuk), and many more.
