Actor Kamal Haasan is preparing for the premiere of his upcoming film, Thug Life. This Mani Ratnam-directed movie, a blend of gangster action and thriller genres, is set to debut on June 5 in cinemas. Lately, Haasan has found himself embroiled in controversy due to his assertion that the Kannada language originated from Tamil. Unfortunately, this comment did not sit well with the residents of Karnataka.
Bangalore man burns Kamal Haasan’s portrait publicly, gets booked
In the midst of the continuing uproar about the senior actor, a resident of Bengaluru was recently arrested by the police for publicly torching an image of Kamal Haasan.
A man was discovered blocking the movement of vehicles on the road close to Pavitra Paradise Circle in western Bangalore, creating an inconvenience for the public.
He’s been charged under both Section 270 (for creating a public disturbance) and Section 283 (for displaying deceptive signs or buoys) for the same offense.
Thug Life banned in Karnataka amid Kamal Haasan’s Kannada language row
The remark led to criticism from Kannada-speaking viewers, culminating in the ban of his next film by the Karnataka Film Chamber.)
The head of the Karnataka Film Chamber has expressed their stance on the issue, stating, “We do not extend our empathy to Kamal Haasan. If he fails to offer a public apology either today or tomorrow, we will stand with Kannada activists and engage in strong protests. In no situation will we permit the film’s premiere unless he publicly acknowledges his mistake.
More about Thug Life
Returning to the world of Thug Life, this movie signifies the second joint project between the actor from Vishwaroopam and Mani Ratnam in quite some time.
As a devoted fan, I’m excited to share that this movie features some remarkable talents such as Trisha Krishnan, Silambarasan TR, Abhirami, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, and several others.
As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but share my excitement about the upcoming movie! This gripping tale seems to focus on none other than Rangaraya Sakthivel Naicker, a man once believed to have met his demise as a gangster. Yet, in an unexpected twist, he reappears and starts to suspect that his own brother and foster son, Amaran, might be the ones pulling the strings behind this presumed death!
Here’s what Sakthivel has in mind for a chilling retribution, directed at those who were once closer to him than mere blood ties.
