Explore the details behind every character in the game known as Nightfarers, understand how their abilities function, and discover some special traits that define each one’s distinctive gameplay style.

Wylder

Wylder is versatile, making him an ideal choice for beginners. With his Sixth Sense ability, he can dodge death once when taking a lethal blow. As a jack-of-all-trades, he’s proficient with various martial weapons, but doesn’t particularly stand out in any particular weapon category. His preferred weapon is the Greatsword.

Guardian

Nightreign’s main role is being a tank, similar to a guardian. He prefers using big shields along with weapons suitable for defense, like halberds, rapiers, or hand crossbows. Unlike other Nightfarers, he deals less damage but boasts incredible toughness and has various methods to disrupt enemies.

Guardian Character Guide

Ironeye

Iron-Eye excels in the use of bows, but his exceptional Dexterity also allows him to handle daggers and curved swords effectively. However, due to his low durability, he’s not ideal as a front-line combatant; use melee weapons thoughtfully. His skills are straightforward, making him a great pick for beginners.

Ironeye Character Guide

Duchess

The Duchess is a nimble fighter who specializes in agile maneuvers to dodge and weave during combat. She initially carries a powerful weapon that she can enchant with the Magic attribute for additional damage. Moreover, she possesses a high intelligence level, allowing her to effectively use Glintstone Sorceries, and has a reasonable Faith scaling for Incantations too. Keep an eye out for weapons that have the Magic or Frost Affinity, and those capable of inflicting Frostbite or Blood Loss statuses when wielded by the Duchess.

Raider

The Raider boasts immense physical power and wields massive or titanic weapons to pulverize his opponents. Though versatile in handling different martial tools, his Fighting Power (FP) is exceptionally low, which complicates the use of weapon abilities. The Raider’s built-in resilience makes him hard to knock off balance, thereby increasing the chances that his strikes land effectively.

Raider Character Guide

Revenant

In a simpler way, The Revenant functions more as a support character due to her high Faith level, which enables her to effortlessly cast offensive spells. However, she struggles in terms of direct damage output because she lacks any means of FP (Focus Points) recovery. Her inherent ability summons the spirits of her foes to aid in battle, distracting enemies and inflicting damage on them.

Revenant Character Guide

Recluse

A proficient mage, the Recluse shines at launching destructive attacks from a distance using her character ability to replenish her spell points (FP). Primarily specialized in Sorceries and Incantations, she can also wield weapons imbued with Magic, Frost, Fire, Holy, and Lightning attributes. While requiring more strategic play due to limited defensive options and the need to conserve FP alongside Health and Stamina, a skillfully controlled Recluse can inflict substantial damage.

Recluse Character Guide

Executor

The Executor is particularly skilled in one-on-one battles. His impressive Dexterity and Arcane abilities grant him a wide range of options for using smaller weapons within the game. Keep an eye out for Katanas, as they are especially beneficial to the Executor due to their scaling with Dexterity and ability to inflict the Blood Loss status on enemies. Be mindful of your positioning since the Executor has limited durability.

Nightreign Map Guides

Exploring the Limveld Map offers numerous exciting spots to discover. The Maxroll’s Limveld Map & Essential Locations Guide walks you through different interactions, identifies various mob species you may encounter, and explains the potential loot you could acquire by defeating them.

During your journey, you might stumble upon unpredictable situations called “Raid Encounters.” These incidents frequently require you to battle a formidable opponent. Clearing the Nightlords battle triggers Shifting Earth occurrences. Nightreign Resources

Discover the central hub area of Roundtable Hold, which belongs to Nightreign. In this location, you can swap between your characters, carry out Relic Rites to prepare for the next adventure, spar and experiment in the training ground, delve into game information with the Visual Codex, unravel your character’s backstory at the Journal, and depart from the Table of Lost Grace to confront a Nightlord. Familiarize yourself with everything this place offers by checking out Maxroll’s Roundtable Hold guide.

In the game Nightreign, artifacts known as Relics and containers called Vessels play a role in the metaprogression system. After completing each run, you receive Relics and Murk, which can be spent at the Small Jar Bazaar. Some Relics have randomly assigned traits that may or may not be beneficial, while others (usually obtained through character quests or defeating bosses) come with fixed stats and are very powerful. As you advance in the game, you also gain access to more Vessels, allowing you to switch between different combinations of Relics on your Nightfarer. To learn more about this system, check out Maxroll’s guide on Relics and Vessels.

In the game Nightreign, numerous sorceries and incantations have a particular affiliation with a specific Spell School. The Spell School influences which enhancements boost your spells; for instance, Glintstone Sorceries won’t gain from bonuses meant for Godslayer Incantations. However, the game doesn’t make this connection overly clear, so if you’re interested in improving your spell power, consult Maxroll’s Sorcery and Incantation School Guide.
