Jujutsu Kaisen Movie Possibly Hypes Fans for Season 3 Tease

The upcoming Jujutsu Kaisen Hidden Inventory/Premature Death movie, set to release in Japan on May 30, 2025, might offer a sneak peek into Season 3. This film is essentially a recap of the episodes from Season 2, which premiered in July 2023. While fans in Japan will get to enjoy it earlier, North American audiences can expect to see it on July 16, 2025.

Jujutsu Kaisen fans could get a Season 3 tease with new movie

The just-unveiled trailer for the Jujutsu Kaisen Hidden Inventory/Premature Death film hinted at a cliffhanger that could potentially foreshadow the commencement of Season 3 in the anime.

On the platform previously known as X (Twitter), the official account for the Jujutsu Kaisen anime posted a sneak peek of the JJK film. In addition, the creators encouraged fans to keep an eye on the movie’s conclusion by saying, “Don’t forget to catch the ending too!

MAPPA, the studio behind Jujutsu Kaisen anime, revealed that there will be a Season 3, coming after the conclusion of Season 2 in 2023. The second season ended with the Shibuya Incident Arc, and the third season is set to adapt the Culling Game Arc instead.

Although there’s been no official word, MAPPA has kept quiet about the progress of the upcoming movie, and as of now, they haven’t specified a potential release window for the anime either.

More recently, the voice artist behind the beloved JJK character Gojo, Yuichi Nakamura, shared insights in a pre-release interview. He hinted that Season 3 will surpass all anticipations.

Game Rant’s interpretation indicates that Nakamura expressed his thoughts as follows: “The Hidden Inventory film is bursting with energy to such an extent that it seemed a shame to confine it solely to TV broadcasts. As I watched it, I couldn’t help but wish we could experience it on the big screen, even if just for a special screening. This sentiment is not only for ‘Kaigyoku & Gyokusetsu’, but also for the future developments, which I am confident will surpass all expectations.
