In a bid to start anew, she moved away from Los Angeles in 2014 and settled in Dubai. Recently, Lindsay shared insights about this unexpected change in her life, which now includes residing in Dubai alongside her one-year-old son, Luai, and spouse, Bader Shammas.
Why did Lindsay Lohan move to Dubai?
For the 2025 Summer Issue of Elle, Lindsay Lohan will grace the cover and discuss her life experiences living in Dubai versus New York City and Los Angeles. The magazine asked about her preferences and comparisons between these locations. Lohan explained how certain aspects of life in the United Arab Emirates differ from living in LA. She expressed, “Life in LA is challenging. Even taking my son to a park in LA makes me anxious, wondering if there are cameras around. In New York, I don’t have that worry; people leave us alone. Everyone has their own agenda going on. There’s a unique energy in New York. I’d rather enjoy quiet moments in New York than in LA.
She commented, “What’s great about LA is that it provides ample space, which I appreciate.” Lindsay Lohan then pointed out that she encounters similar experiences in Dubai, stating, “However, an interesting point to consider is that I experience all those things in Dubai too. I have privacy, tranquility, and spaciousness there. I don’t have to be concerned about safety issues.
Lohan emphasized the importance of her family following a regular schedule in their life in Dubai, remarking, “Family comes first: my husband, my son, and me. It’s all about finding balance, and as I mentioned, routine is crucial. And when you have a child, establishing a routine becomes vital. Whatever their routine is, I need to adapt to it.
The renowned world-class performer is currently preparing for her upcoming theatrical adventure, titled “Freakier Friday,” a follow-up to the cherished fantasy comedy from 2003, “Freaky Friday.
