Endless Legend 2’s first returning faction is the all-devouring Necrophages

In a follow-up strategy game similar to Endless Legend 2, it was only natural that some familiar factions would eventually emerge, and indeed they have, with the Necrophages being one of them. Out of all the returning factions, the Necrophages are the ones most focused on conflict, as depicted in the original game’s lore. This race is semi-insectoid in nature and operates as a collective hive mind, with the primary objectives of safeguarding their queen, annihilating their adversaries, consuming their fallen enemies, and expanding the reach of their hive.

In the latest video on YouTube, the Necrophage faction was unveiled for Endless Legend 2. As they were in Endless Legend, the Necrophages are an ideal choice if you prefer a combat-focused gameplay style. They view other races solely as sustenance and tools for reproduction, making diplomacy impossible. However, their approach to conquest and progression is uniquely tailored to their insatiable hunger.

In Endless Legend 2, the Necrophage faction has only one primary city, and they are unable to establish additional settlements or form alliances with minor factions because they prefer consuming and reproducing within them instead. Their influence spans through a network of tunnels constructed across the world, enabling them to burrow underground and swiftly access high-value territories that other factions might find challenging to reach. The Necrophages can also draw sustenance from the land itself to funnel resources back to their queen. Their expansion is primarily fueled by conflict, as each victory provides corpses that help them advance and transform their combat units into increasingly formidable and effective creatures for battle.

As the Necrophages make their comeback, there’s excitement in the air about which other factions from past editions might reappear. Keep an eye on the Endless Legend 2 discussions right here at Shacknews as we inch towards the game’s early access debut this summer.
