Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 Ratings Could Put MCU Show in Jeopardy

It appears that “Daredevil: Born Again” has shattered viewing records within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Regrettably, this record is one that Marvel Studios might wish hadn’t been set.

In March 2025, Disney+ announced that the initial release of Daredevil: Born Again attracted 7.5 million viewers within five days on their streaming platform. This was the highest premiere for the year up until then, but it paled in comparison to the 10.9 million views amassed by Loki Season 2 within three days and the 9.3 million views gathered by Agatha All Along during its first week.

What unfortunate record did Daredevil: Born Again just set?

According to ComicBook.com, Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 is Marvel’s first live-action Disney+ series not to appear in Nielsen’s Top 10 list of original streaming shows, a rather disheartening milestone given the high level of fandom excitement before its release. Regrettably, it seems that the anticipation did not result in significant viewership numbers.

Despite being previously canceled on Netflix, the series “Daredevil: Born Again” will get another opportunity for viewership growth due to an initial 18-episode order from Marvel. The actors Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio are returning to their roles as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Mayor Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, respectively, in the second season, which is currently being produced.

As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that Season 2 will see the return of some familiar faces! Deborah Ann Woll takes on Karen Page again, Elden Henson reprises his role as Foggy Nelson, Wilson Bethel continues as Benjamin Poindexter/Bullseye, Genneya Walton returns as BB Urich, Clark Johnson steps back into Cherry’s shoes, Michael Gandolfini will be Daniel Blake once more, Ayelet Zurer reappears as Vanessa Fisk, and Jon Bernthal makes a comeback as Frank Castle/Punisher. Can’t wait to see their performances!

In the upcoming season 2 of “Born Again”, actors Matthew Lillard and Lili Taylor have been added to the main cast. Lili Taylor will portray a political adversary of Fisk. Additionally, Krysten Ritter is set to reprise her role as Jessica Jones in the MCU, making her return to “Born Again” season 2. There’s buzz that Mike Colter (Luke Cage) and Finn Jones (Iron Fist) might appear too, potentially marking the first reunion of the Defenders since 2017.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is slated to premiere on Disney+ in March 2026.
