The Fantastic Four: First Steps Runtime Is as Long as Iron Man 3 & Thor: Ragnarok

As the release date for The Fantastic Four: First Steps draws near, Marvel enthusiasts have at last been given some fresh news about the film’s runtime. A recent cinema schedule suggests that the Matt Shakman-directed project will not only initiate Phase Six of the MCU but will also be the longest theatrical release for the cherished franchise in the past two years.

AMC reveals The Fantastic Four: First Steps possible runtime

According to AMC Theatres, the upcoming movie “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” will last for approximately 2 hours and 10 minutes. Interestingly, this running time is consistent with that of two other popular Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) films: Iron Man 3, starring Robert Downey Jr., and Thor: Ragnarok, featuring Chris Hemsworth. Both of these movies also run for around 2 hours and 10 minutes.

It appears that “First Steps” will be Marvel Cinematic Universe’s longest project since the release of “Guardians of the Galaxy 3” in 2023. After James Gunn completes his trilogy with the final installment, it seems that Marvel Studios has chosen shorter durations for their films. For instance, “The Marvels” concluded within 105 minutes, while “Deadpool & Wolverine” from 2024 lasted for two hours and eight minutes. Similarly, “Captain America: Brave New World” was close to the two-hour mark. In contrast, “Thunderbolts” is slightly longer than its counterparts, with a runtime of two hours and six minutes.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve heard whispers that the upcoming “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” movie is slated for about 2 hours and 20 minutes. But, right up until the final moments of production, they’re still making tweaks and trims – so things might have shifted dramatically since then. Marvel’s yet to spill the beans on the exact runtime, though, so we’ll just have to wait and see!

Fans can expect a quick resolution to their anticipation, as the movie is scheduled for release on July 25, 2025.
