Despite being relatively silent during the majority of the legal process, he recently spoke about the outcome in a recent interview. His comments were made just months after him and Jolie reached a legal agreement.

After more than eight years since they initially separated, Brad Pitt has now publicly addressed his divorce from Angelina Jolie. In December 2024, they finalized their legal agreement – almost a full decade after Jolie first filed for divorce in 2016.

To GQ, Pitt expressed a straightforward answer regarding his feelings about concluding the lengthy court case. He stated, “I wouldn’t call it relief exactly. More like a natural progression, a matter being resolved legally.

Following numerous court hearings over many years, it’s been made official that Jolie has renounced any rights to alimony from her ex-husband. Her lawyer explained, “Over eight years ago, Angelina initiated the divorce from Mr. Pitt. Since then, she and the children have departed all properties they jointly owned with him. Ever since, Angelina has been dedicated to seeking tranquility and healing for their family.” The statement also indicated that Jolie feels both exhausted yet relieved as this part of her life is now behind her. After a private flight during which Jolie claimed Pitt had been abusive towards her and their children, she chose to initiate divorce proceedings shortly thereafter. Despite no charges being filed and Jolie electing not to pursue further legal action, this incident signaled the start of a prolonged and intricate divorce process. The couple began dating in the mid-2000s, married in 2014, and were officially declared single again in 2019.

Regardless of any legal decisions, Pitt’s connections with his six offspring – Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox, and Vivienne – appear to be strained. Some sources claim that they are distanced from him and have chosen to use a different surname.
