Veteran actor Rajesh, a prominent figure in South Indian cinema, was recognized for his exceptional work spanning numerous films across Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam languages. Apart from acting in over 150 movies, he left an impact as a voice artist in dubbing and on television. Sadly, he passed away on May 29, 2025.

Tamil actor Rajesh passes away after succumbing to respiratory issues

On the morning of May 29, 2025, at the venerable age of 75, the esteemed actor Rajesh took his final bow. He was previously hospitalized due to persistent high blood pressure problems, and unfortunately, he faced complications with his respiratory system which led to his passing.

Actor Rajesh’s significant film career of 50 years 

In 1949, Rajesh, more commonly recognized as Rajesh Williams, embarked on his acting career with a highly praised film titled Aval Oru Thodarkathai. This film marked the beginning of his remarkable journey to success. It was in the year 1979 that he secured his first leading role in the movie Kanni Paruvathille.

Over time, he’s been featured in countless movies, working alongside industry giants such as Rajinikanth, Thalapathy Vijay, Mohanlal, Vijay Sethupathi, and numerous others.

Rajesh’s personal life

Back in 1983, I, a fervent admirer, had the immense honor to tie the knot with Joan Sylvia Vanathirayar – a woman whose lineage traced back to the esteemed social reformist, Pattukottai Davis Vanathirayar.

The couple had two kids; a girl they called Divya and a boy named Deepak. It’s interesting to note that Deepak chose a career path similar to his father’s, entering the world of cinema as an actor.

Rajesh lost his wife in 2012. With his passing, he leaves behind his children and extended family.
