Final Destination Bloodlines almost beats all past franchise movies at box office
The movie “Final Destination: Bloodlines” kicked off its international release, raking in an impressive $102 million during its opening weekend, surpassing the total global earnings of “Final Destination 2” within just three days. However, as is often the case with horror films, its financial success has since taken a significant dip.
Despite facing stiff competition from popular summer movies like Lilo & Stitch and Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, the sixth installment of Final Destination has still maintained its position at the box office. In fact, it has already surpassed $150 million in earnings, making it the seventh film this year to reach that milestone.
Currently, as reported by Box Office Mojo, Final Destination: Bloodlines has earned approximately $187.1 million at the box office, combining both domestic and international revenues. This places it as the second highest-grossing film in the beloved horror franchise since its debut in 2000. The 2009 release, The Final Destination, holds the title for the highest grossing with a total worldwide income of $187.4 million. With this trend, fans might anticipate that the 2025 sequel will overtake the earnings of its predecessor before long.
Apart from earning significant revenue globally, Final Destination: Bloodlines has also gained positive reviews from critics. Currently, it holds an impressive 92% rating on Rotten Tomatoes’ Tomatometer. Critics have been particularly impressed by the film’s innovative approach to the well-known Final Destination theme. Jonathan Sim of ComingSoon.net even described it as a “fresh twist” that “rejuvenates the series with new risks and a more complex mystery.
The American premiere of Final Destination Bloodlines took place on May 16, 2025, and it has been doing quite well in cinemas since then.
