On January 10, 2025, the much-anticipated film “Game Changer,” featuring Ram Charan in the main role, premiered. Despite the tremendous buzz, the movie flopped at the box office, receiving harsh criticism from both audiences and critics. Recently, the film’s editor has also criticized director Shankar, describing working with him as a terrible ordeal.
During an interview with Kaumudy Movies, editor Shameer Muhammad shared that collaborating with director Shankar was quite challenging. Instead of sticking to the agreed editing schedule, Shankar would show up 10 days later. This pattern persisted for several days, ultimately causing Shameer to reside in Chennai for approximately 300 to 350 days.
After having to decline several other film opportunities because of ongoing projects like Game Changer and Shankar’s unconventional work schedule, Shameer decided not to participate in the film production later on. Consequently, the editing duties were handled by Ruben following his departure.
Wow, I can’t believe it! As a die-hard fan, I’m absolutely amazed to learn that the epic masterpiece starring Ram Charan was initially a whopping 7.5 hours long. It’s mind-blowing to think that Shameer Muhammed was the one who bravely took on the task of cutting it down to a more manageable 3 hours. And then, the legendary Shankar stepped in and further refined it, bringing it down to the gripping 2.45 hours we all know and love! What an incredible journey this film must have been to create, and I can’t wait to see the final product!
For those not aware, Shameer Muhammed is a well-known editor and producer primarily associated with Malayalam cinema. He initially worked as an editor for advertisements and music videos before making his debut in Malayalam films with the movie “Charlie,” starring Dulquer Salmaan.
The editor has gained significant recognition for his contributions to well-known movies such as Ajayante Randam Moshanam (ARM), Marco, Rekhachithram, and others. His latest project is the ongoing film Narivetta, featuring Tovino Thomas.
At Game Changer, we find a political action drama led by Ram Charan, which tells the story of an upright IAS officer striving to reshape the political landscape. Yet, amidst this journey, he encounters corrupt politicians. To navigate through their challenges, he relies on both his physical strength and intellectual acumen.
The movie showcased Ram Charan playing both the father and son characters, while prominent actors like Kiara Advani, Anjali, SJ Suryah, Jayaram, Srikanth, among others, filled crucial roles.
In the future, Ram Charan is actively working on the production of his movie titled Peddi, directed by Buchi Babu Sana. The release date for this film has been scheduled for March 27, 2025.
