Yesterday saw a postponement for both “Avengers: End of All Things” and “Avengers: Secrets of Conflict,” as suggested by recent reports. This delay seems to be primarily influenced by factors such as box office performance and strategic behind-the-scenes planning.
Why was Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars delayed?
As per a report by Deadline, these delays give Disney additional time to develop and refine the massive concepts for both upcoming movies. Since these productions aim to rank among the largest films ever created, this extra time allows the company to devote more resources and attention to their successful completion.
Disney selected the release dates for Doomsday (December 18, 2026) and Secret Wars (December 17, 2027), based on the holiday season’s past Marvel Studios films’ success. Notably, Spider-Man: No Way Home, which was released in December 2021, also proved to be a significant financial win for the company, grossing almost $2 billion.
Thus far, an impressive array of actors have been announced as part of the Doomsday cast. This lineup includes Chris Hemsworth, Vanessa Kirby playing Invisible Woman/Sue Storm, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Sebastian Stan portraying Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Letitia Wright acting as Shuri/Black Panther, and Paul Rudd in the role of Ant-Man.
