Entropy: Zero VR is an awesome Half-Life 2 campaign that puts players in the shoes of the villainous Combine

Ever thought about stepping into the role of a Combine soldier in Half-Life 2? There are likely many mods available to fulfill that desire. But if you’re looking for something truly immersive, consider Entropy: Zero VR, a new mod for Half-Life 2: Episode 2. This mod plunges players directly into the life of a Combine soldier, offering an entirely fresh cinematic campaign.

Awesome Half-Life 2 mod goes VR

Introduced in 2017, the initial Entropy Zero drops players into the role of a castaway Metrocop within the derelict City 10. This popular mod occurs 11 months prior to Gordon Freeman’s journey through City 17 and challenges players with eliminating Rebel forces.

Although the mod doesn’t have the same level of refinement as a genuine Valve production – hinting at the possibility of a fresh official Half-Life game – this mod is a real treat! It offers some thrilling sequences and top-notch combat, making it an excellent, free supplement to Half-Life 2: Episode 2.

Eight years following its initial launch, the team is now unveiling a complete Virtual Reality (VR) adaptation of the mod, aptly named Entropy: Zero VR. Developed using the fan-created Half-Life 2 VR mod, this fresh VR rendition incorporates significant gameplay enhancements and quality-of-life upgrades, enhanced visuals, additional content and side areas, as well as new hand movements and voice lines.

As a fellow gaming enthusiast, I’ve got to share some exciting news about Half-Life 2: Episode 2! Unfortunately, there’s no set launch date yet for the VR version, but

According to the developers’ recent announcement on ModDB, EZ1VR is expected to be offered as a free downloadable content (DLC) on Steam for Entropy : Zero. Once it’s released, it can be launched via Steam. However, please note that this could change before the final release, so keep an eye out for future updates.

As the team works on incorporating fresh elements into the VR edition of the game, they are simultaneously introducing those same features in the non-VR (flat) version too.
