Spirit: After Deepika Padukone’s exit, will Prabhas starrer feature Rukmini Vasanth?

The movie titled “Spirit,” featuring Prabhas as the main character, has been generating a lot of excitement lately, as Sandeep Reddy Vanga is the one directing it. Since Deepika Padukone decided to leave the project, there are rumors that the producers might cast Rukmini Vasanth for the female lead role instead.

According to a report from Aakashavaani, producers are reportedly in negotiations with the acclaimed actress from Sapta Sagradaacha Ello for an upcoming project. Pending official confirmation, fans are eagerly anticipating the possibility of seeing her act alongside Prabhas in the same film.

It’s worth mentioning that Deepika Padukone was previously rumored to collaborate once more with Prabhas under the guidance of Sandeep Reddy Vanga. As per reports, the actress from Kalki 2898 AD demanded a payment of approximately Rs 40 crores for her role.

Initially, the producers and director offered her only Rs 20 crores for the project, which led her to decline it. Previously, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan had similarly left the project due to similar financial disagreements, despite initially being involved.

Speaking about the upcoming movie, “Spirit” is reportedly a gritty cop action drama with Prabhas portraying a passionate young police officer. The storyline revolves around the intense struggle of a police officer against a powerful drug cartel. Although the cast details are yet to be confirmed, it’s expected that this film will make its grand appearance on the big screens in 2026.

On the professional side of things for actor Prabhas, he is soon set to star in The Raja Saab. This film is directed by Maruthi and promises to be a romantic horror-comedy. In this movie, Prabhas, known for his role in Saaho, will reportedly portray dual roles. The story revolves around a young man who aims to sell an inherited property swiftly, but discovers chilling mysteries hidden within it instead.

In the upcoming movie, “The Raja Saab,” we have a talented group of actors including Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan making her debut in Telugu cinema, Riddhi Kumar, and others. However, the release date, which was initially set for April 10, 2025, has been moved back, with a new date to be announced soon.

Additionally, Prabhas is actively engaged with his project tentatively named “PrabhasHanu (Fauji)”. Conversely, Rukmini Vasanth will soon be seen in the upcoming films “Ace” starring Vijay Sethupathi and “Madharasi” featuring Sivakarthikeyan.
